Welcome to ParentSquare
Bellville ISD is thrilled to launch ParentSquare, a new platform to connect families and schools. ParentSquare will be the primary way BISD and campuses share important information with families. As we transition, platforms like SchoolMessenger, Remind, and ClassDojo will be phased out, and ParentSquare will take their place.
ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home.
Some features include:
- Mass notifications and urgent alerts with two-way communication
- Mobile application for administrators and parents (iOS and Android)
- Attendance notifications
- Teacher and classroom communication
- Direct Messaging with two-way translation
- Appointment Sign Ups (parent-teacher conferences, technology pick-ups)
- Calendar and RSVP
- Volunteering and classroom supply sign-ups
- And so much more!
As a registered parent, you can:
- Receive messages from the school and district via phone, email, text, or app notification
- Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6pm
- Communicate in your preferred language
- Comment on school postings to engage with your school community
- Direct message teachers, staff, and other parents
- Participate in group messages from schools and teachers
- Sign up for parent-teacher conferences
- Sign up to volunteer, sign up to donate school supplies, and more all from your desktop or mobile device
How do I register for ParentSquare?
While it is not required, we highly suggest all parents/caregivers: 1) download the ParentSquare app from the Google Play Store or Apple Store, and 2) register your ParentSquare account with the email address that is connected to your student through the Bellville ISD Parent Portal. Students in grades 6-12 can also download the ParentSquare app and connect with their BISD email address.
On the app, enter your email or cell phone number. The email and/or cell phone number should match what is in the school's information system (Ascender) or database.
On the web, click ‘Sign In’, then under ‘Register’ section, put your email or phone number and click '“Go”.
If the email or phone number is not recognized by ParentSquare, parents can follow directions to request access or call the school office and ask them to update the contact information.

Click ‘Comment’ in app or website to privately ask a question about the post that your teacher or school sent. Only the author of the post will see your comment and/or reply.

Ensure that you complete the Annual Student Information Form to update your contact information. You can also contact your child’s school for more assistance.

ParentSquare allows users to customize their notifications based on notification type and select their preferred delivery method for each school. The Instant setting will send all post notifications in real-time. The Digest setting sends direct messages, alerts, and time-sensitive posts instantly, but sends all non-time sensitive posts at the end of the day, reducing the number of notifications you receive daily. (We recommend the Digest setting.) Learn more about managing notifications.

In the ParentSquare App
- The current school view will appear at the top of your homepage. To switch schools, select the three lines in the top left corner of your screen.
- Then select the "Schools" icon in the left hand menu and then the desired school you would like to view.
- To navigate announcements from different classes at the same school or if you have multiple children at the same school, you can also customize your feed to those classes as well. After selecting the three lines in the top left corner on the homepage, select "Classes" in the left hand menu. Then select the desired class.

Parents can update their language preference for their account. Once they have done this, ParentSquare will automatically translate any communication to them in their selected language. This translation will also occur when the parent sends a message to a staff member. Learn more about ParentSquare translations and how to set the language preference.

Yes. All parents have a ParentSquare account. ParentSquare is the primary tool for district and school communication. Individuals who do not activate their account in ParentSquare will still receive an email digest at the end of each day that communication is sent out to them. In the event of emergencies, phone calls will be sent as well.

If you are both a staff member and a parent/guardian in BISD, click on your name on the top right corner (web version) or switch account (in the app). There, you will be able to add your second account.

Log in with your staff account using Google Single Sign On; and your parent/guardian account using the email address associated with your student in WooEdu.

Once both accounts are added, you can easily switch between accounts.

Check your spam folder to see if any ParentSquare messages ended up there, and mark them as “Not Spam.”

Add donotreply@parentsquare.com to your email contacts so your server recognizes our messages.

If you still are not receiving emails, please contact support@parentsquare.com so they can assist you.
To update your email address or phone number, parents/guardians should call the main office of your child's school. Staff should update their contact information. You cannot update your contact information directly in ParentSquare.

You may have accidentally blocked text messages from ParentSquare from your phone.

Text “START” to 66458 to re-enable your text messages.

If the problem continues, contact your school administrator for assistance.
If you blocked texts because you received too many of them, you can instead adjust your notification settings. Select "off" or "digest."

Click the link in your activation email/text, or sign up on the ParentSquare website or via the ParentSquare app.

- Set Preferences
Click your name in the top right to set your notification and language preferences.
- Get Photos & Files
Click ‘Photos & Files’ in sidebar to access pictures, forms, and documents that have been shared with you.
- Appreciate Posts
Click ‘Appreciate’ in your email/app or website to thank a teacher or staff member for a post.
- Comment or Reply
Click ‘Comment’ in app or website to privately ask a question about the post that your teacher or school sent.
- Participate
Click ‘Sign Ups & RSVPs’ in the sidebar to see available opportunities. Click bell on top to check your commitments.
- Join a Group
Click ‘Groups’ in the sidebar to join a group or committee at your school to participate or to stay up to-date.
- Find People
Click ‘Directory’ in the sidebar to find contact information for school staff.
- Get in Touch
Click ‘Messages’ in the sidebar to privately get in touch with staff and teachers.

Register your account if you have not already done so. You simply need to go to Parent Square and log in with the email you provided to BISD.

Once logged in, you may need to click "Home" (or you may get there automatically)

You will see the "Post" feed in the middle. At the top right, click "My School, Classes and Groups." (See image below.) Here, it will list your child's class schedule and teachers. It will also list any ParentSquare "Groups" you belong to, such as "Grade 1 Families."

Additionally, families can get this information by logging into the Bellville ISD Ascender Parent Portal.

If you are missing a child/school, it may be because:

Your contact information does not match what we have in Bellville ISD Ascender Parent Portal.

You have more than one ParentSquare account with different contact information
To add a child or school:
Update your contact information in the Bellville ISD Ascender Parent Portal and make sure it is the same for all your children.
Staff Members Who Are Also Parents
As a staff member and a parent, you will be able to have both your staff contacts and your parent contacts linked to the same account. Please "merge/combine" accounts.

If you have a district-issued staff email on your staff record and a personal email address on your parent record, multiple accounts may have been created for you.

If you already have the same phone listed on your staff and parent accounts, your accounts can be easily linked. The accounts will merge automatically once you complete the verification process and confirm both accounts. After this, both emails will be listed on your account, but you will be required to use your staff email to log in.

If you already have separate registered accounts under different emails/phones, you can use the Combine Account option to merge them together.

ParentSquare has accounts for caregivers marked as the guardians in the Bellville ISD Ascender Parent Portal. Please check with your student’s school to verify how the parent is listed in Ascender.
If the additional parent is not listed as a guardian, the parent can request to be added by contacting the child's school.
The registrar at the school can make changes in Ascender. The changes will take effect within 24 hours.

Go to Parent Square and on the login page click “Forgot Password.”

Put in your email or phone number and you will be sent a link to reset your password.

If you and your spouse/co-parent share an email address, only one of you will be able to log in to ParentSquare using that email address. The other person should use their cell phone number to log on.
We recommend that each parent/guardian have their own cell phone or email for emergency situations. You can update your contact information in the Bellville ISD Ascender Parent Portal..

Contact your child’s teacher privately by using the direct messaging tool.

On the web, you can click “Messages” in the left sidebar and start a direct conversation by clicking “New Message”. On the ParentSquare App, you can tap on “+” sign to start a new message.

You will see their child’s teacher and group owners in the quick-select recipients’ box at the top of the page. Or, you can type the first three letters of a name in the recipient box for other users to auto-populate.

From here, you can send a direct message to your child’s teacher that only you and the teacher can see. You can also send messages to other staff members at the school, such as your child’s coaches and club leaders.

In order to change your sign-up, you must delete your existing sign-up and sign up again for the correct slot. To delete your sign-up, hover your mouse over your name and you will see a trash can appear to the right of your name. Click on the trash can and your sign-up will be removed. Then, you can click on the “Sign Up” button that corresponds with the correct slot.

If your plans change and you would like to change your RSVP, click on “Sign Ups and RSVPs” under the participation tab in the left sidebar. On this page, find the event that you had previously sent an RSVP for and click the green button that says “Change my RSVP” on the right side.
