COVID 19

COVID-19 Overview

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness caused by a new virus.  There is currently no vaccine to protect against COVID-19.  At this point, the best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to the virus that caused it and stopping the spread through everyday good hygiene practices such as:

  • stay home when sick;
  • students should be 72 hours symptom free prior to returning to school;
  • cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow;
  • wash your hands as frequently as possible;
  • if you cover your mouth or nose with your hand, avoid touching other objects;
  • frequently touched objects such as door knobs, toys, and light switches should be sanitized regularly;
  • avoid putting your hands in your eyes, ears, nose, or mouth;
  • do not share cups, eating utensils, drinks, towels, toothbrushes, etc.
  • use disinfectants to clean classrooms and households regularly; wipe down tables and desks, etc.;
