COVID-19 Overview
COVID-19 is a respiratory illness caused by a new virus. The best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to the virus that caused it and stopping the spread through everyday good hygiene practices such as:
- stay home when sick;
- students should be 24 hours symptom free prior to returning to school;
- cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow;
- wash your hands as frequently as possible;
- if you cover your mouth or nose with your hand, avoid touching other objects;
- frequently touched objects such as door knobs, toys, and light switches should be sanitized regularly;
- avoid putting your hands in your eyes, ears, nose, or mouth;
- do not share cups, eating utensils, drinks, towels, toothbrushes, etc.
- use disinfectants to clean classrooms and households regularly; wipe down tables and desks, etc.;
